Another site that you may want to visit is the Orthopedic Foundation for Animals (OFA). The OFA has a large data base of results from dogs that have been tested for genetic issues that are within our breed. There is also loads of information on the site that can better help you understand what these issues are and what is being suggested to try to diminish these issues in the future.
CHIC or Canine Health Information Center is a site that you may also want to visit. CHIC is a centralized canine health database jointly sponsored by the AKC/Canine
Health Foundation (AKC/CHF) and the Orthopedic Foundation for Animals
(OFA). Their goal is to provide a source of health information for owners, breeders, and scientists, that will assist in breeding healthy dogs.
